Revamp Your Website This New Year - 5

I am sure by now you have understood the basics of website revamping. If you have not read the previous parts of this series, i would strongly recommend a quick look through the past 4 parts and then coming back to this link.

The year 2013 is certainly going to be a great year for any website owner. All you have to do is make sure that you get found online. When someone reaches your website, you should give him what he wants and not waste his time. It is certainly a difficult task while using keywords. What Keywords?

In the language of a layman, a keyword is a word or a phrase that help you get found on search engines. If I am someone looking for a grocery store in my locality, I would type 'grocery store in ABC locality' on Google. Now if you have these words in a certain density(frequency) on your website or blog or virtually any communication that you have done over the internet, chances are high that you will get found in the first page of the search results. Now this is not as easy as i have made it appear. The whole process of SEO is much more that just keywords, but yes, the beginning is certainly with these important words and phrases.

Your website is now complete with great content and a web design par excellence. What are you waiting for now? Just get it online. Publish your website and let people get what they want. There are thousands of sites on the internet that are competing with you for time, space and attention. Don't lag behind just as yet.

This is the final blog of this series (don't worry folks, i would still be sticking around with some great topics and ideas to discuss about). You can follow these simple rules and complete the tasks in order to get an awesome website. I am sure that if you put in 5 minutes of thoughtful construction of the website in your mind, you will save hours of work with the real re-construction.

I will soon publish an e-book for you all, which will contain, more tricks, tips and a detailed analysis of the websites of different tastes and making them appear not only beautiful, but useful as well. If you want the e-book you can follow me on Twitter and get the download link from there. Don't miss this chance. Stay updated.

Revamp Your Website This New Year - 4

You are all set now. Most of the pre-production is complete. Now its time to get the things done and produce something great. You will need two services now. First, a web development service and second a good content writing service.

The web development service will help you in making a great website. They will first of all create a design that goes according to the ideas that you decided in step one and two. You will have to chose a basic design template. This template will contain a background design or image that will be the basis of your whole website. Next, you will have to chose a design according to your business. This design will include the number of pages that you will have, what will be their fundamental appeal and how they will be placed in your website.

The next step is to chose a layout for individual pages of your site. You don't necessarily have to keep the same layout for all the pages. You can chose different layouts for the same design, but make sure that you do  not break the balance and harmony of the website design. For example, if your website theme colors are warm colors like scarlet, yellow and orange, don't make two or three pages in cool colors like blue or green. Your website is not meant to look like a flower garden unless you intentionally chose so.

All done? Great. Now you need good content for your website. Content will fill in the empty spaces of the design of your website. Content can be of several kinds and can be as varied as needed. You can chose between text, photographs, videos, logos, infographics, graphs, presentations or anything else that you might like in your website.

You can take pictures of your company and important people from your archives and upload the videos or any important films by yourself. That leaves you with only written content. Time now to hire a great content writing services. The trick to get great content for your website or blog (or almost anything in the world) is not to go for the most popular service or the service that costs you the least. You have to find a content writing service that understands you and your business and can provide the best content, tailor-made for you. Yes, there has to be content that is original and 'readable'.

What can you do for getting these services? Well search online. You will get a number of such writing services. Save yourself of the tedious task of looking for such services. Contact MyContentLab immediately. You can visit the MCL website or find us on Facebook or Twitter. All you have to do is type MyContentLab in the search box and whoa! you are there.

Shall i save you more time? You will find links to our Facebook Page and our Twitter handle in this webpage only. Hover your mouse to the right/left of this webpage and there we are. Waiting in your service. We will listen to your demands, research your website and give you the best content that you can ask for.

Revamp Your Website This New Year- 3

So you have now understood the basic concept behind revamping your new websites? I am sure that by now you have a very clear idea of what kind of website you want for your business. The rest of the work is fairly easy. Are you ready to move one step forward? Fine, let's get started.

The next step in revamping websites is market research and target audience profile. This step can be performed before or after the first step of conceptualization  If you are an end consumer oriented business, you must take this step very seriously. You do not want to leave your website to wild speculation. Instead go for careful planning and leave a little scope for imagination.

You can either hire a market research company for this purpose or go for the work yourself. I would personally not prefer that you go a separate expense of market research exclusively for the web based audience. Of course the option sounds very lucrative, you may find it a far better option to go an integrated market research. This way you get to understand your consumer in each and every way possible and you get to include that in your online endeavors as well.

The point is that we must understand that our website is not independent of the rest of our presence. Our websites cannot represent anything that is not related to our real product/service. If we do so, we are certainly fooling ourselves in the cyber world. Try to be as rational as possible. If your integrated market research tells you that you have to focus more on teenagers, you must do so in the 'real' store and the 'virtual' world as well. Of course, you can add a special discount to the teens who buy online. But then, don't make it something that appears out of the blue and shocks your audience.

Have you understood your audience yet? Do you keep feedback forms at the counter? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe you have hired a market research agency, maybe not. The whole focus of this step is to make sure that we are giving something valuable, and we are giving it to the right audience. We simply cannot serve sausage to a vegan. Nor can we make copper appear valuable to a diamond merchant. Do you see how simple it is? Yes, i am sure you do. Now get going. Re-check the plans you made in step one. If there is anything you find to be contradicting the behavior of the target audience, change it immediately.

And keep yourself updated of the next few steps.

Revamp Your Website This New Year - 2

I hope you have brainstormed the idea by now and have a clear picture in your mind regarding your new website. If you have followed the steps mentioned in the last post, you must now be far ahead than your counterparts who want to relaunch their websites without proper ideas or themes.

Is your website template ready? Have you thought about what should suit you and what not? Let me give you hint what you should be following. First think what kind of a business/company/organization you are and who are your target audience. If you are school, you would probably want to appear vibrant, full of life and 'educational'. Similarly, a small business that deals with children's stationery would also want to appear colorful.

On the other hand, if you are IT solutions provider firm, you must want to look more 'techie' and 'organized'. In between, you may also put in a hint of creativity to tell your clients that you can think of out of the box solutions to their technology issues. Maybe you can develop an android app exclusively for the management committee so that they may keep in touch or you have a great MIS(Management Information System) software for better HR.

Lets take another example. You are a youth organization that helps students in getting their homework done and teach them a few life skills. You want to be 'visually attractive' to the children. You don't want to appear dull or old-school. Make yourself likable.

In yet another example, if you are a corporate firm or have much serious outlook and consumers, you may chose a rather simple and 'professional' website. Devoid your website of any frills and decoration. Nobody wants to see that. You want to make sure that you appear 'matured', 'seasoned' and 'professional'. Use smaller sentences, don't drag around in your text and your giving your readers just what they want. Cold cut information.

I hope now things are getting clearer in your mind. December has only just begun. We will be back with more.

Small Business

Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Business

Almost all small business are carried out with minimum investment. They run on a very easy but important plan and that is to produce more income with least amount of money invested in a business.
Small business are perfect for those who don’t want to deal in higher risk, are unemployed or those who want to spend maximum time with their family. But there are some benefits and limitations of handling a small business, they are-

Advantages

  • ·         One of the essential advantages is that the investment which is required for running this type of business is not a major issue. Financial aid, grants and economic support is always readily available to these small business. Government banks and other big business corporations  provide them grants and help them in starting their business.

  • ·         It is very easy to keep a record of all the transaction that takes place every day. It even helps the owner to keep a track on his business dealings, maintaining and keeping them updated.

  • ·         Transactions can easily be record in a manual based accounts book called “Journal” or in a PC .

  • ·        An advantage of small businesses is that the management of assets and liabilities is not a difficult task. Assets include checking and savings accounts while liabilities include the money you owe to others. Moreover keeping a cash transaction record is easily maintainable in a small business.

Disadvantages
·        Small business as the name speaks for itself, is run on a very low budget which is a limitation for businessmen who own these firms. It need tremendous planning and marketing and implementation of accurate strategies. Handling of accounts like managing loans or investments in an improper way will lead the business to its down fall.
  • One of the major disadvantages of a small business is the lack of authenticity. Most people prefer to do business with established industries rather then to put their trust in small businesses which have several risk factors. To make the name for a small business in the big industry is the major obstacle that most small businesses face. Much marketing effort and references are required to firmly establish and authenticate a small business.
  • ·         A disadvantage of small businesses is the non-payment of loans or grants undertaken by the business owner, when he is not capable of running a business properly.

Revamp Your Website This New Year - 1

Forget about the Mayan prophecy about the end of the world. There is much to be done about the website you own and if you keep following the mainstream media and the hype it creates around small events and sensitizes a very serious news.

So we are not going to die and most probably your business will have to face new marketing challenges in 2013. What will those marketing challenges be and how will you overcome all these challenges? The answer is simple. Revamp your website.

Every new year people make new resolutions and will try to stick to them throughout the year. This year in December, spend some time in thinking about your website. Your website is the face of your business over the internet. No matter how many social media profiles or other identities you have on the internet, people will always come back to the website to get some authentic, genuine and 'official' content. Hence, it becomes really important that you pay attention to how you appear on your website.

First things first, you need to have a plan in your mind. You must know what message you want to convey to your audience. If you are an online retailer you might think about decorating your website in accordance to the festive season. Get those fairies and elves and Santa to make your website look all ready for the season. This makes your website more visually attractive and helps in making people purchase more. Remember, the more it catches the eye, the more eyes will linger around. Moreover, you will be able to tell people that you are not a cold online business, but an organization full of warm and welcoming people who celebrate with the buyers and understand their aspirations.

Give your website a new template. If you have not added any Twitter badges or Facebook like buttons, do it right away. Get you content to reflect what your whole ideology is all about. You don't have to make a separate tab about your mission and vision on your website. These things look good in your business plan where to have to convince investors. In your website, people must get the hang of your ideas with the words you use. They must be able to relate to the words you use. You must be able to radiate your aura through a website. How do you do that? Get in touch with us and we will let you know. Alternatively, you can make a good use of your imagination. No agency or person will be able to help you unless you have a clear idea of what you want your website to be like.

More on revamping your website, coming soon.
